[ARCHITECTURE] Dakar Sow Home by SAOTA and Antoni Associates

Designed for a Senegalese businessman and his family, Villa Sow in Dakar, Senegal was completed in 2011 by architects SAOTA - Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects. Situated on a cliff side overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this architectural masterpiece is as beautiful inside as it is outside, due to the creative minds over at Antoni Associates, who are responsible for the Interior Decor.

The house was built on the site of an World War Two bunker and on the edge of a cliff, presenting an array of dramatic features around the site. A portion of the old bunker has been preserved and houses an underground cinema that opens to a water courtyard/moat that runs along the boundary.

Designed to create seamless indoor and outdoor living/entertainment, the ground floor is an L shape around the pool, terrace, and garden, while the perfectly placed living and dining room protrude over the Atlantic Ocean, providing a spectacular panoramic sea view.

The house also features an open kitchen, a traidtional kitchen, staff facilities, a splendid sculptural circular star case, an entertainment room, family lounge, floating stairs, two children's bedrooms and a main bedroom.
