Today inflicts the beginning of many great blog posts, but I present to you something epic of all proportions. Something that will channel nostalgia and hood appreciation.

The year was 2000 and Westcoast hip hop as the world knew it was surging beyond anything comprehensible. The legendary Dr. Dre had just released "Chronic 2001" and the respective "Up In Smoke Tour" was eclipsing hip-hop entirely. The concert featured artists such as Ice Cube, Eminem, Proof, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, D12, MC Ren, Westside Connection, Mel-Man, Tha Eastsidaz, Doggy's Angels, Devin The Dude, Warren G, TQ, Truth Hurts and Xzibit. Quite honestly, I cannot recollect one concert featuring the likes of this many quality artists in one venue, don't even try to drop a YMCMB or anything pertaining to Drake reference.

I've been to plenty of concerts, seen many of artists perform, but this introduction by Westside Connection trumps every single one. Ice Cube doing what we know him for, rapping, not sub-par acting, Dub-C walking for the set, and Mack 10 with the healthy afro'. Yes, there was a time when the westcoast reigned supreme for keepin' it gangsta. Rest in Paradise Nate Dogg.
